1. Introduction
By accessing or using our website at https://www.heisenberginstitute.com (the “Website”), or enrolling in any of our programmes, you (“you”, “your”, “Participant”, “Student”) are agreeing to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (this “Agreement”). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not access the Website or enrol in our programmes.
2. Definitions
“Institute” refers to the Heisenberg Institute for AI and Quantum Computing.
“Programmes” include workshops, research participation, educational courses, training sessions, and other services offered by the Institute.
“Services” means any interactive services, websites, portals, and tools provided by us.
“Participants / Students” means individuals who enrol in our programmes or otherwise make use of our Services.
“Content” means all text, graphics, images, audio, video, software, code, models, algorithms, documentation, course materials, and other data provided by us or through our Services.
3. Eligibility & Registration
You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old (or if you are under 18, you have obtained prior parental or legal guardian consent, as required) and have full capacity to enter into this Agreement.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registration and enrolment information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Fees, Payment, and Refund Policy
Programme fees are as stated at the time of enrolment. Fees must be cleared (paid in full, or via approved payment plan) before access is granted to the relevant Services or batches.
Once fees are paid and your enrolment is confirmed, no refund will be made except as specified in a separate written policy or agreement.
In the case of EMI or instalment plans, you must meet the eligibility criteria, complete any loan or financing approval, and ensure the first instalment is received before the Programme commences. Failure to do so may delay access or result in cancellation.
Any change of campus, batch, or Programme track after enrolment will typically require re-registration and may attract additional fees; requests for change are subject to our discretion.
5. Programme Access, Materials & Use
On successful enrolment and fee payment, you will be granted access to the Programme materials (online portal, lectures, code repositories, quantum computing resources, etc). Access is for your personal, non-commercial use only.
You agree not to share your login information, copy or redistribute the content, reverse-engineer any code or algorithms provided, or use the Services for any commercial purpose unless expressly authorised in writing.
The content is protected by copyright, trade mark, patent, and other intellectual property laws. Unless explicitly permitted, you may not reproduce, modify, publish, transmit, exploit or otherwise use such content beyond the scope of the Programme.
6. Conduct & Participant Obligations
You agree to conduct yourself in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner during the Programme. This includes respecting fellow participants, instructors, staff, and the intellectual property rights of the Institute and third parties.
You agree not to engage in disruptive behaviour, cheating, plagiarism, misuse of quantum or computing resources, unauthorised data access, hacking attempts, or any activity that violates applicable law or these Terms.
The Institute reserves the right to suspend or exclude a Participant from a Programme without refund if they breach these Terms, behave unprofessionally, or misuse the Services.
7. Placement/Research Assistance & Disclaimers
While the Institute may provide support, networking opportunities or research collaboration facilitation (e.g., job-placement assistance, internships, research partner introductions), we do not guarantee employment, publication, funding, or specific results unless otherwise specified in a separate contract.
All placements, partnerships, research outcomes depend on individual performance, external partner decisions, and resources beyond our control.
8. Licensing of Work & Research Outputs
Unless otherwise agreed, any work you produce in the Programme (such as models, algorithms, experiments, papers) may be used by the Institute for research, publication, teaching or promotional purposes, with attribution to you as appropriate.
If proprietary or collaborative work is undertaken involving third-party collaborators, a separate agreement may govern ownership, licensing, confidentiality, and publication rights.
9. Termination & Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services or participation in any Programme at any time if you breach these Terms, fail to pay fees, or engage in unlawful or unethical behaviour.
On termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. We may remove or disable your access. Any obligations you incurred up to the date of termination shall survive.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, software, code, documentation, and infrastructure provided by the Institute are our exclusive property or that of our licensors.
You may only use the content for your personal learning and research, subject to the licence granted. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Institute endeavours to deliver high-quality educational and research resources, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free access, outcomes from research or employment, or fitness of the Services for any specific purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Institute and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption or any other damages arising out of your access to or inability to access the Services.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion or limitation of liability for certain damages; in those places, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
12. Governing Law, Dispute Resolution, Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Tamil Nadu, India , without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

If the matter cannot be resolved amicably, the parties agree that any legal action shall be brought in the courts of Tamil Nadu, India, and you hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
13. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time.
Your continued use of the Website or participation in a Programme after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop accessing the Website and withdraw from any Programme.
14. Entire Agreement & Severability
These Terms, together with any other written agreement you may enter into with the Institute, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Institute with respect to the Services and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications.
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Third-Party Links & Services
Our Website or Programme may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by the Institute. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or performance of those third-parties.
You further acknowledge and agree that the Institute shall not be liable for any damage or loss from your use of any such third-party websites or services.
